A new film directed by Karen Shakhnazarov “Khitrovka. The sign of four" featuring Daniil Dubrovitsky is now released in all Russian cinemas. Daniil told us about his experience on set of the feature film: “I am very grateful for the opportunity to take part in such an interesting film and with such a truly wonderful Russian and Soviet director, Karen Shakhnazarov. It is an unforgettable experience, from makeup and filming to delicious meals on set. Unfortunately, in this film I had a very modest episode, but I am more than sure that this is a good start and there is still more to come".
The story is based on real events. In 1902, the Moscow Art Theater staged Maxim Gorky's play 'Na Dne'. The directors and founders of the Moscow Art Theater Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko and Konstantin Stanislavsky really asked the writer and public figure Vladimir Gilyarovsky, who knew the Moscow slums of Khitrovka well, to give the Moscow Art Theater troupe a tour of the rooming house. According to the plot, after the tour, Gilyarovsky decides to take Stanislavsky through the slums to the mysterious Indian, but the journalist and director find him killed. Stanislavsky and Gilyarovsky begin their own investigation of the crime.
