The premiere of the feature film “Commander” featuring Veronica Norina and Yulia Romashina took place yesterday in the Russian cinema center "October".
The plot is based on the biography of the legendary Soviet and Russian state security officer Gennady Zaitsev. An ordinary boy from a remote Ural village was brought up in a large family without a father. However, he managed to cope with all the difficulties of his wartime childhood and post-war devastation, and became at the origins of the creation of the anti-terrorist unit “Alpha Group”.
The film tells the story of the terrorists' hijacking of a bus with 32 children, a teacher and a driver. The action takes place in the city of Ordzhonikidze on December 1, 1988. A very complex operation is taking place under the leadership of Gennady Zaitsev. It reveals the real work of FSB officers and how difficult it is for them to make decisions on which the destinies and lives of people depend.
The parents of the children taken hostage were played by the very people who were actually captured by terrorists. They were later freed by Alpha Squad.
They worked on the film for two years using consultations from current employees and veterans of the KGB of the USSR and the FSB of Russia.
