A professional neighbor—an apartment raider who has obtained the right to use a share in the property—can move into any apartment with improperly executed documents. He will use every legal, albeit brutal, means to obtain the remaining share of the apartment. This is precisely the kind of cold-blooded adversary that the single-parent Malyutin family, living in a Stalin-era high-rise on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment in Moscow, faces. Now their life turns into a struggle for their only home, from which their neighbor, Baev, is forcing them out. The series also stars Anastasia Imamova, Arina Postnikova, Ilya Sigalov, Anatoly Kot, Evgeniya Akhremenko, Georgy Dronov, Olesya Sudzilovskaya, Veronika Mokhireva, and Vladislav Demin.

The series is directed by Mikhail Shulaev, and the cinematographer is Andrey Miroshnichenko. "Professional Neighbors" is a story about moral choices and improperly executed apartment documents. The action takes place in a Stalinist high-rise, where the apartment itself becomes a fully-fledged character, changing along with the characters.
