Stanislav Belosludtsev as a sailor on a missile submarine

Plot:
A Russian special-purpose missile submarine disappears without a trace during a secret mission in the Greenland Sea. A crew led by Viktor Voronin, whose older brother, Alexander Voronin, commands the missing submarine, is sent to search for it. The sailors are tasked with finding the submarine by any means necessary and preventing the new top-secret weapon from falling into enemy hands. Meanwhile, geological research at a polar station in the northern waters awakens the Kraken: a gigantic monster capable of blending with the underwater darkness and possessing an unknown intelligence. It is this monster that the sailors searching for the missing submarine will face.

Filming Locations:
The film was shot at real military bases and nuclear submarines of the Russian Northern Fleet in Severomorsk and Zaozersk. The crew had access to the new-generation submarine Kazan, and part of the filming took place directly on board.
