Filming for the historical drama "The Seagull" starring Ulyana Donskova has begun in Moscow.

Filming has begun on the film "The Seagull," about Valentina Tereshkova's space flight.

The film is being produced by Legio Felix, with the support of Channel One and distributors Atmosfera Kino and O! Kino. Anton Megerdichev is directing, and Sergey Astakhov is serving as cinematographer. The screenplay is being written by Ilya Kulikov and Valeria Podorozhnova. The project's general producers are Ilya Kulikov, Vladimir Permyakov, and Andrey Semenov.

Filming will continue over the next three months. Preparations were conducted with the participation of Tereshkova herself and her family. The film's team has received full access to all Roscosmos archives containing information about Tereshkova's flight, including classified and previously unpublished materials. "The Seagull" will be released in Russian cinemas on April 8, 2027, to coincide with the cosmonaut's 90th birthday.
