Half of the festival has passed, red carpets are walked all over, the first prizes have flown with their winners. However, the most interesting part is still ahead, when the films will be released and everyone will have a chance to judge on Kinotavr nominations and winners.

We definitely advise you to add Vera Glagoleva’s last movie ‘Ne chushie’ with Sanjar Madi starring to your watch list. Though one will have to wait, as the film will be released in Russian cinemas on November 15, 2018.

In the 21st century, when every person has a smartphone, everyone can shoot a movie. The technical progress reflects on the industry as well – we may see the flourishing of new movies. The reflection of this tendency can be seen in the program of 29th Kinotavr: this year's program ‘Debut’ included 8 films, while previously there were no more than 3-4 films  in the competition. By the way, one of the jury of the debuts competition was GM actress Ravshana Kurkova.

In the program ‘Shorts’ Igor Poplauhin’s  ‘Calendar’ won a prize, he was also a winner for this short film at the Cannes festival. However, as Igor says: ‘I am  really glad that I was accepted and understood here, in my homeland. Because for a director it is very important to be closer to the ground, where we shoot. That is why Kinotavr seems even more important than international competitions and now I’m very happy to be noticed by Russian cinematographers’.

Today GM Production's CEO Gordana Milevcic and Manager of PR & Foreign Actors Department Daria Velikorodnyaya are flying to Sochi. Follow us on Instagram to see what will be happening at the festival with Gordana and Dasha’s eyes, it’s going to be interesting :)
